It will not be the royal wedding, but perhaps it will be a thunderous one when Oklahoma City Thunder all-star Kevin Durant ties the knot. Perhaps, the basketball star will marry his love in Guthrie?
Durant made it official when he asked Monica Wright to take his hand and exchange wedding vows. Wright plays for Minnesota in the WNBA and has known Durant since the 2006 McDonald’s High School All-American Game. No official date has been made publicly and neither has the location, but a suggested list has Guthrie’s Dominion House the top choice in Oklahoma.
“We would love to have KD up to make a booking,” Trey Ayers said, who is with the Dominion House, that can cater both indoor and outdoor weddings.
Will they slam dunk the marriage in Oklahoma? Likely, no. Back east is where both Durant and Wright are from and is the early season favorite. However, if they were to stay in the state, Guthrie just may be the all-star selection choice.
