While 90-degree temperatures and the month of June dont necessary get people thinking about basketball that can not be said for the Guthrie Lady Jays basketball program.
The Lady Jays just wrapped up a three-day camp in Cache, Oklahoma. Cache is located 15 miles west of Lawton. The Lady Bulldogs won the Class 4A state championship this past March.
Guthrie participated in 13 games in the short time span and finished with a 7-6 record. Head coach Terry Carris said the team improved in each outing.
The cagers will return several players back that have 2-3 years of experience including Allyson Chadd and Jill Davis along with Ashley Shields, Mikaela Murillo, and Gracynn Smith.
Organized team practices will begin in October with scrimmages to follow in November and games in December.
