Lady Jays golf host large tournament field; finishes third

The Guthrie Lady Jays golf program got things swinging by hosting numerous 6A and 5A teams at Aqua Canyon.

15 teams made up the field, including 12 from Class 6A.

Edmond North dominated the field by shooting a team low 312 with the next team coming in at 332 by the Duncan Lady Demons (332).

Overall, Guthrie took third place behind Duncan and Deer Creek (333) with a team score of 422.

The Lady Jays were led by McCandren Lewis, who signed to play college golf with Northeastern State University, with her score of 81. Lewis tied for third overall as Duncan’s Amanda Johnson lead the way with a low round of 76.

Guthrie scores, include Linzi Thomas 105, Maci Hirzel 117 and Tabitha Buck 119.
