The Guthrie High School tennis program returned with two trophies from the Bartlesville Tennis Tournament. The Lady Jays returned with two winners while the Jays brought home one.
The Lady Jays took the top prize while the Bluejays collected the third place trophy in Bartlesville, which is the stomping ground of GHS head coach Mary Hudson.
In No. 2 singles play, senior Trista LeGrande placed first by defeating the hometown favorite Barltesville opponent 6-3, 6-3.
Collecting a first place trophy was Jillian Chappell and Makaya Coker playing in No. 1 doubles. The duo came away with 6-3 and 6-0 set wins.
In No. 1 singles action, Brianna Berryman placed second after losing to Bartlesville in the finals 6-0, 6-1
The No. 2 doubles team of Faith Anderson and Kiah Thomas placed third wit 6-1 and 6-2 wins over Bartlesville.
For the Bluejays, they were led by the No. 1 doubles team of Aaron Hartley and Caden Hopfer, which defeated McAlester in the finals 6-4, 6-1.
The No. 2 doubles team of Kevin Blackston and Brandon LaMarche placed third by defeating Muskogee 6-3, 6-2.
In singles action, Lane Hlad and Jess Minter each placed seventh.
Guthrie host their annual tournament at the OKC Tennis Center April 11 for the Girls and April 13 for the boys.
