LCSO conducts compliance checks; three businesses sell alcohol to undercover minor

Logan County Deputies, along with Prevention Workz out of Enid, conducted alcohol compliance checks throughout Logan County on August 31. An undercover minor completed an age perception test with the general public which vetted an average age of 19-years-old.

Sheena’s Outpost Bar, Rainbow Gas and Jeet Mart sold low point beer to an undercover minor.

Rainbow Gas, located on W. Noble Ave. in Guthrie, and Jeet Mart, located on W. Noble Ave. in Guthrie, sold low point beer without asking for identification.

Sheena’s Outpost Bar, located on South Pine St. in southern Logan County, sold low point beer to the underage minor after asking and checking the minor’s identification.

“It’s very unfortunate the sales were completed,” said Lt. Jordan Crawford. “Our goal is to have zero sales. We try our absolute best to keep alcoholic beverages out of the hands of our minors throughout the county.”

Free training is provided to each establishment who has a violation through Prevention Workz. They are shown the proper way to read ID cards.

“It’s a great opportunity to partner with them to help make Logan County safer,” Crawford said.

Everyone who completed a sale will be charged with selling beer to a minor, which is a misdemeanor charge.
