Environmental Deputy is reminding Logan County citizens there are dumpsters available for free dumping. He’s also reminding that if anyone is found illegal dumping that fines and jail time is possible.The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for an Environmental Deputy. Over the past two months, Deputy Don Hudgins has been diligently working to locate, investigate and clean up several illegal dumping sites around the county. Just recently, Hudgins’ crew cleaned a large dump site in the county.
Hudgins says each county commissioner has a dumpster at their county barns and citizens can dump free of charge, excluding hazardous materials and chemicals.
Logan County District 1 (405-282-3581) is located at 2315 S.W. 19th Street in Guthrie, District 2 (405-282-3405) is located at 1550 N. Midwest Blvd. in Guthrie and District 3 (405-969-3388) is located two miles north of Crescent and three-quarters of a mile west.
And for those who are found illegally dumping?
“If I catch you dumping on the side of the road there will be a fine and possible jail time,” Hudgins said in the video below.
“Please do the right thing.”
