Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma! set for the fall

Guthrie Public Library announced today that it will host a fall session of Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma!. The event is made possible by a grant from the Oklahoma Humanities Council.

Guthrie LibraryLet’s Talk About It, Oklahoma! is a book discussion series, open to everyone, focusing on a specific theme. The fall theme is “Writing Worlds” and features a series of five books all related to the theme of perception, discovery, and creation in our lives.

Discussions will begin with an edifying and interesting presentation by a local scholar deeply knowledgeable about the book, followed by lively group discussion.

Meetings will be held on Monday evenings from 6 – 8 pm: Into the Heart by Kenneth Good on August 26; The Storyteller by Mario Vargas Llosa on September 23; Everything that Rises Must Converge by Flannery O’Connor on 28 October; A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain by Robert Olen Butler on November 25; An American Childhood by Annie Dillard on December 17.  Refreshments will be served on discussion nights.

Guthrie Public Library has plenty of copies of each book- simply stop by the Library to register and pick up your copy today!
