The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman has elevated our severe weather threat for Saturday to “High.”
Their forecast indicates “A TORNADO OUTBREAK WILL BE LIKELY ACROSS THE SRN AND CNTRL PLAINS FROM LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON LASTING THROUGH THE EVENING AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD.”http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html
The SPC indicates the highest risk for tornadoes will be from Salina to OKC. That said, there is a significant threat for much of the state. As indicated some of the activity may occur in the evening which means that you should be monitoring local media and ensuring your weather radio is on.
There is a threat for severe weather today as well, so please remain weather aware.
Please share the following tornado tips with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors and ensure that you check on those in your neighborhood and community who may not be prepared.
