Howells and Mathena team up to take third in Bartlesville

The Guthrie High School tennis program travel north to Bartlesville for their annual tournament.

Girls #1 Singles Cheyenne Royal placed 7th
In the first round she lost to Bartlesville 6-2, 6-3
In the second round she lost in a super tiebreaker for the third set
In the last round she defeated Ponca City 6-0, 6-0

Girls #2 Singles Heidi Kuruvilla placed 4th
She won the first round against McAlester 7-5, 6-4
In the next round she has defeated by Sand Springs 6-2, 6-1
In the last round she lost to Bartlesville in three sets

Girls #1 Doubles Sarah Howells and Carissa Mathena placed 3rd
In the first round they defeated McAlester 6-3, 6-4
In the second round they lost to Bartlesville  in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 8-10
In the match for third they defeated Muskogee in three set 6-4, 3-6, 8-10

Girls #2 Doubles Ryan Robbins and Kamber Smedley won the consolation finals
They lost their first round to Bartlesville 6-3, 6-0
In the next round they defeated Ponca City 6-1, 6-0
In the consolation finals they defeated Owasso 6-3, 6-0

Boys #1 Singles Kirk Wilkes placed 8th
He lost his first round to Muskogee 6-0, 6-0
In the second round he lost to Tahlequah 6-0, 6-0
In the last round he lost to Owasso 6-2, 6-2

Boys #2 Singles  Conner Johnson placed 8th
He lost his first round to Ponca City 6-0, 6-0
In the next round he lost to Owasso 6-1, 6-0
In the last round he lost to Bartlesville 6-0, 6-1

Boys #1 Doubles Andy Hartley and Seth Vicchio placed 6th
In the first round they lost to McAlester 6-2, 6-4
In the second round they defeated Sand Springs 6-1, 6-1
In the consolation finals they lost to Owasso 6-2, 6-3

Boys #2 Doubles Dalton Jones and Dakota Leach placed 8th
In the first round they lost to Tahlequah
In the second round they lost to McAlester in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 9-11
In the last round they lost to Sand Springs in three sets 4-6, 7-6, 8-10
