Logan County Conservation District offers financial assistance to curb soil erosion and protect water quality

The Logan County Conservation District has announced Program Year 19 of the state’s Locally-Led Conservation Cost-Share Program.  The state cost-share program began in 1997 with the goal of reducing soil erosion and improving water quality by providing financial assistance to landowners for applying soil and water conservation practices.

Conservation practices available for cost-share assistance through the Logan County Conservation District include the following:  cedar tree removal, drilling a water well, invasive weed control, grass planting, pond construction and planting of cover crops.  Approved landowners will receive cost-share at a rate of 75 percent of the lesser of actual costs or county average costs not to exceed $5,000.  Because of limited funds, applications will be ranked by the Logan County Conservation District, according to an established priority system.

The District will be accepting applications at the Guthrie Field Office from Monday, May 14 through close of business on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  For more information contact the Logan County Conservation District, (405) 282-1695, or come by the office at 2227 Iron Mound Drive, Guthrie.
