Logan County Master Gardeners hosting “Beyond the Garden Gate” Garden Tour

The Logan County Master Gardeners invite the community to step “Beyond the Garden Gate” on Saturday, June 7, for a special tour showcasing five local gardens from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organized by longtime Master Gardener Paula Burnett, who has served in the role for 12 years, the event aims to celebrate the continued beautification of Guthrie while strengthening community ties.

“The focus is on the continued beautification of Guthrie along with focusing on the community,” Burnett said.

Four of the five featured gardens are located within Guthrie city limits, while the fifth is a National Wildlife Federation-certified habitat just a mile outside of town, located at Cimarron National Golf Course.

Advance tickets are available for $15 for adults through June 6 and can be purchased at the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce tourist desk, Jones Garden Center in Crescent, or by calling Paula Burnett directly at 405-623-1361. Tickets will also be available the day of the event for $20 at the Guthrie Public Library. Children under 12 may attend for free when accompanied by an adult.

When attendees exchange their advance tickets, they will receive a fan/ticket sponsored by Cottage Floral, which will reveal the garden locations. A booklet detailing the history of each garden will also be included.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Logan County Master Gardeners to support their mission of education, community service, and local beautification efforts. The group regularly volunteers to maintain city flower gardens and encourages fellowship among gardening enthusiasts.

For those interested in volunteering or becoming a Master Gardener, the next training class begins August 21. To learn more, contact the OSU Extension Office.
