Five students from Mack’s 512 Academy helped a local church and citizens of the community on their holiday break by helping serve lunch on Wednesday afternoon.
The eager students helped the staff at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 310 E. Noble, by dishing out and serving salad, lasagna and cake for the Lunch on Noble program.
“We do this for several reasons, one of which – and to me the most important – is to teach our youth to give back to the community,” Assistant Director Cassandra Carney said.
“We are instilling how vital it is to have a strong sense of community.”
The lunch program helps feed those in the community throughout the week. The free lunch is Monday thru Friday from 11 am to noon.
