October is Bully Prevention Month nationwide and Mack’s 512 Academy along with Youth Empowerment Strategies, Inc. (YES!) is joined the campaign by sponsoring a poster contest as well as a special showing of an anti-bullying video, “Stand For The Silent” written and produced by the 512 Academy students.
Left to right: 1st Place winner was Brendon Weeks, 2nd Place went to Felicita Crist and 3rd Place was given to LaAnderia Rucker.
Students created an original poster displaying what to do to stop and prevent further bullying. Their posters include support and encouragement to peers to take a stand against bullying at any level..
The posters will be displayed in merchant windows in the Guthrie downtown area soon.
Mack’s 512 Academy is an after school/summer camp facility that houses the YES We Can!! program brought by Youth Empowerment Strategies, Inc.
