Man accused of assaulting pregnant woman, officers

A Guthrie man is facing several charges, including assaulting a pregnant woman of six months.

Just before 11 p.m. on April 20, police officers with the Guthrie Police Department responded to the 100 block of E. Oklahoma for a domestic assault in progress.

Upon their arrival, officers observed, through a window, a man holding a woman by the neck with one hand and striking her with the other hand.

Once officers made contact with Brandon Michael Stracener as he began to struggle with the officers by kicking and yelling obscenities, according to a court document.

The report further states Stracener, 31, began to spit at officers as they attempted to put him into the police cruiser.

One officer was left with several scratches to the arm.

The female victim stated she is six months pregnant with twins.

On Wednesday, Stracener was charged with kidnapping, domestic abuse (second subsequent), assault and battery upon a police officer and resisting law enforcement.

He was given a $50,000 bond and a May 23 court case.
