Earlier this month, Jordan Harvey pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Geronimo Quilimaco and was sentenced to prison.
Harvey was arrested in September 2023 after Logan County deputies responded to an emergency call on Sept. 5. The call, made from the 3200 block of 2 Creeks Road, captured the sound of an argument, followed by the caller saying, “I’m gonna kill you,” and then a gunshot. Deputies later found Quilimaco deceased in a wooded area near a residence.
Shortly after the incident, Harvey was located nearby and taken into custody.
District Attorney Laura Austin Thomas initially stated that, based on the facts of the case, the most appropriate charge was first-degree manslaughter.

Harvey, who waived his preliminary hearing in January, was sentenced to 25 years in the Department of Corrections, with 13 years of the sentence suspended, contingent on good behavior. Additionally, he was ordered to pay all court costs.
