Mercy Hospital announces changes to visitor policy following uptick in COVID cases

Mercy Hospital officials announced changes to their visitor policy that will go into effect Monday, Jan. 3, because of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Oklahoma.

The new policy will allow one visitor per patient in all hospitals, clinics and other patient care facilities and two visitors for pediatric and obstetric patients. Mercy Hospital officials said they will follow regular visitation policies for end-of-life care.

“Because of potential for COVID complications, there are some patients who will not be allowed visitors,” Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City officials posted on social media. “We thank our communities for supporting this decision that helps us protect patients and co-workers, and better serve all that seek care at Mercy.”
