GUTHRIE, Okla. – Patients, visitors and co-workers at Mercy Hospital Logan County now have a peaceful place to clear their minds. Thanks to a donation from the Logan Medical Foundation, the hospital’s Serenity Patio is complete.
“We wanted to provide a memorial to the years we had Logan County Medical Center and provide a place for healing and reflection.” said Mark Lemarr, president of Logan Medical Foundation. “There are several employees who have worked there for decades and we want to thank them for their service, to reflect on the years we had Logan County Medical Center and to welcome Mercy into our community.”
The patio is home to flowers, trees, statues and a fountain. It sits by the front entrance of the hospital on the south side of the building.
Mercy Hospital Logan County is inviting the public to a blessing of the patio at 3 p.m. Tuesday April 24. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
“We’re inviting the public to come and see the patio and to join us in thanking the Logan Medical Foundation for this generous investment in our hospital,” said Josh Tucker, administrator of Mercy Hospital Logan County. “We’re already seeing people enjoying the patio. This gift means a lot to us, because it allows us to provide our patients and their families with a mini escape when they need one.”
