Guthrie Firefighters responded to a grass fire on Tuesday afternoon shortly before 1:00 pm.

Black smoke from two abandon house fires rose above the city.

The grass fire located in the area of Pine and Triplett Road on Tuesday afternoon found two mobile homes and were burned in the fire.

Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow said the two mobile homes were abandon and that there were no utilities hooked up to the structures. Harlow went on to say that there was no one at the homes.

The start of the fire came from a landowner’s burn barrel with hot debris.

The fire chief says his staff has been called out to 10-15 fires since Sunday morning. The City of Guthrie remains under a burn ban while Logan County is not in a burn ban.
