Luke Morgan and Bo Robbins missed out on a three-peat opportunity for the Guthrie High School golf team in 2020, but the duo will compete in what will be a clash of the best in Oklahoma.
The Guthrie graduates will join other great junior golfers across the state and compete in a 36-hole, one-day event with a 120-player field on May 26 at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond. Contestants will play 18 holes at Oak Tree East and 18 holes at Oak Tree West.
The event does happen during a dead period for college recruiting so college coaches will not be able to attend. That’s quite alright as both have signed to play college golf with Morgan heading to Baylor and Robbins to Air Force. Related article: Watch: Robbins, Morgan sign DI letters to play college golf
Seven of Golf Oklahoma’s top-10 players from its high school preview are currently in the field, including Jaxon Dowell of Edmond (ranked second), Jordan Wilson of Edmond (ranked third), James Roller of Tulsa (ranked fourth), Luke Morgan of Guthrie (ranked fifith), Bo Robbins of Guthrie (ranked ninth) and Tres Hill of Elk City (ranked 10th).
