December 7th and 8th, 12 Mulhall-Orlando FFA Members, including all the chapter Officers, spent the weekend in Sparks, Oklahoma, attending the second annual Lead 360 Conference.
Lead 360, formerly called MFE/ALD, allows all 8th-12th graders to grow into better leaders together. It also improves self-confidence, motivation, goal setting, and teamwork. FFA members started their day with a general session led by four state officers: Casyn Larman, Cooper Klien, Caleb Ames, and Anna Jo Helling. Members were then separated into two smaller groups to develop their skills deeper. One saying from Bill Cordes, a speaker at the conference, “Energy is Currency,” has significantly impacted FFA Member Garrett Perrins’s leadership skills. “When Bill Cordes started talking about how our energy is the way we live and how we survive, I began to realize that’s how I want to live, full of energy and leading to my best ability,” said Perrin.
After a full day of leadership training, FFA Members rotated groups and heard from many instructors, including Bill Cordes, Kelly Barnes, Dustin Galyon, and Jason Wetzler. After dinner, members returned to the pavilion to be entertained and let loose during a talent show. Mulhall-Orlando FFA Member Dax Pack put his best foot forward and sang “Broken Window Serenade” by Whiskey Meyers, playing the guitar as well. The conference continued the next day with another session, followed by everyone getting back together to listen to a keynote address from Rhett Laubach.
Mulhall-Orlando FFA would like to thank everyone who helped assemble this year’s Lead 360 Conference.
