The ‘89er Carnival is moving back to the downtown area.
Due to construction of the viaduct and the railroad right-of-way, the carnival is making its way to the streets of Oklahoma Ave., Harrison Ave. and Wentz St.
Armbands for unlimited rides will available each night (weather permitting).
On Wednesday (19th) and Thursday (20th) the carnival will be open from 5 – 10 p.m. Armband bracelets will be sold for $25 each for all to enjoy the rides. Armbands may not be purchased after 8:30 p.m.
On Friday (21st), the carnival will be open from 5 – 11 p.m. with arm band prices at $25 each. Armbands may not be purchased after 9 p.m.
On Saturday (22nd), there will be two sessions. For each session, the arm band prices are $25 each. The day session will be from 1 – 6 p.m. with armband sold until 4 p.m. The evening session will be from 5 – 11 p.m. with armband pricing ending at 9 p.m.
Two new rides will be featured, including the Screamer Thrill Ride and the Haunted House Dark Ride.
Carnival Guidelines
Here are some of the guidelines that the carnival company has issued.
Flip flops and open toe shoes are not advised, both for your safety and the fact that two of their rides prohibit them.
Is your child under 32 inches? Due to the fact that they will be extremely limited as to what they can ride, children under 32 inches will not be eligible for an armband. They will be limited to tickets for the two or three rides they can get on.
Are you over 54 inches tall and riding alone? If so, be aware that there are only three rides that are considered “big” rides that you can get on without a partner.
Do you have a cast or brace due to a temporary disability? Check with ticket sellers to see what you can ride. A brace or cast that interferes with a joint will disqualify you from riding in most cases.
Are you pregnant? For your protection, pregnant women are prohibited from riding anything.
