Noble Ave. closed down following vehicle accident

Update — The roadway is now reopen in both directions.

Utility crews are working to repair utilities on the east side of town after a vehicle struck a utility pole causing lines to fall in the roadway.

The Guthrie Police Department was called to the 300 block of E. Noble after a truck and trailer swiped the pole at 7:45 a.m. on Monday.

At first it was believed to be electric lines in the roadway, but turns out it was fiber optic cables belonging to Cox Communications.

Police officials believe the roadway will be closed off until early afternoon as OG&E must replace the pole to allow Cox to reestablish the line.

Police continue to investigate why the truck, whose mirror was near the pole, and trailer swiped the pole.

Traffic is being diverted onto Broad St. and Ash St.
