Obituary: Lou Ann Stoll

Lou Ann Stoll, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, Oklahoma.  She was surrounded by family.

Lou Ann was born on March 27, 1925, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Edward N. and Dorothy (Latham) Haynes.  She married Sylvan Stoll on October 3, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where they remained.  Together, they had 4 children: David, Stephen, Scott, and Shelley.  She attended Kelly Ave Christian Church followed by The Village Christian Church.  She enjoyed Garden Club, Bible study group, sewing, reading, and playing the piano.  She was fond of her cats, and she had many over the years.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward N. and Dorothy (Latham) Haynes, of Kansas City, Missouri; her husband, Sylvan Stoll, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and her children, David Stoll of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Stephen Stoll of Jacksonville, Florida; and Shelley (Stoll) Bruning of Coyle, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her son, Scott Stoll, and his wife, Jo, of Plano, Texas, and her son-in-law, Anthony Bruning, of Coyle, Oklahoma.  Lou Ann is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth McKelvey of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Katherine Pittman and her husband, Brian, of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Stewart Stoll and his wife, Susan, of Keller, Texas; Jennifer Avery and her husband, Daniel, of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Mary Evans of Guthrie, Oklahoma; John Bruning and his wife, Anna, of Coyle, Oklahoma; Suzanne Orndorff and her husband, Cole, of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and Peter Bruning of Coyle, Oklahoma.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jack, Kate, Rachel, Andrew, and Aaron McKelvey; Anne Marie, Luke, and Clare Pittman; Alex and Evie Stoll; Samuel Avery; Allison, Michael, and Zoey Evans; David, Lily, and Olivia Bruning; and Ethan, Anthony, Simon, and Sophia Orndorff.  She is also survived by her brother, Edward Haynes, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and her niece, Kammy Haynes, of Chino Hills, California. 

Lou Ann lived a long life and left cherished memories among many family members and friends who will miss her.  Memorial donations may be made to Helping Community Paws and Claws.  Services are pending.
