October 9th through October 15th is Fire Prevention Week and the Guthrie Fire Department is full of activity this week.
The department is hosting station tours for many of the students from the elementary schools. Some tours have already been scheduled this week, so you can call the fire station at 282-4433 to join in on any of the tours which will be during this week and on the weekend. (If you can’t make it this week, you are welcome to call ahead and schedule a station tour anytime).
“Sparky the Dog” will be on hand to discuss fire safety and prevention with the kids along with safety materials to take home and share with the family. During this time of year, the fire department would like to remind everyone to check the batteries in their smoke detectors and practice your home fire escape plans.
