OHP: 3 people die in early morning vehicle accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says three people from Guthrie died in a vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Payne County.

According to the OHP report, Fidel Simpson, 25, Barkley Simpson, 26, and Dariahawn Simpson, 21, died at the scene from massive injuries.

The accident occurred three miles west of Perkins, Okla. on Highway 33 just before 4 a.m.

The report shows a 2019 Buick Encore, driven by Fidel Simpson, was southbound on Western Road (a two-lane road) when it struck a ditch causing the vehicle to go airborne and striking a tree.

The condition of the driver and cause of the collision is under investigation with OHP.

Troopers say Fidel Simpson, who according to Facebook turned 25 on Sunday, was the only person in the vehicle wearing a seat belt.
