Oklahoma City woman sentenced to prison in fatal Logan County crash

An Oklahoma City woman has been sentenced in connection with a 2022 fatal crash in Logan County that claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman.

Logan County District Judge Phillip Reese found Tyler Lyn Haley guilty following her previous plea and sentenced her to 20 years with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, with the final 16 years suspended.

Haley will serve time in custody before being placed on two years of home confinement upon release, during which she will be required to wear an ankle monitor. She will then be under Department of Corrections supervision for an additional two years.

The court also ordered Haley to pay a $480 fine along with court costs, including incarceration fees. She will have 180 days following her home confinement to address those payments. Haley was advised of her right to appeal.

Haley initially pleaded not guilty in September 2024 but later changed her plea to guilty in September 2025.

The case stems from an August 13, 2022, crash on State Highway 33 east of County Road 76 that resulted in the death of Sharon Maloy of Oklahoma City.

Investigators with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol determined Haley was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes when her vehicle struck Maloy’s vehicle head-on.

Witnesses reported seeing Haley enter the highway in the wrong direction from a residential area prior to the crash. Authorities also reported her blood alcohol content was 0.169—more than twice the legal limit—and that she was driving with an expired license at the time of the collision.

Haley had been charged with first-degree manslaughter under multiple counts, including DUI and driving the wrong direction.

During sentencing proceedings, Haley’s granddaughter testified on her behalf.
