It was a picture perfect day for baseball and Opening Day for Guthrie Little League Baseball.
Fans were cheering on their favorite little leaguers on Saturday morning and afternoon in the Cottonwood Flats and Kiwanis Field.
The boys and girls were seen hitting the ball to the fence using a big barrel bat, running down the base paths and of course sliding – lots of sliding. The teams played well. This sport is competitive, but it’s much more important to ensure the kids enjoy themselves as a priority.
In between games and for some during the game, the players enjoyed complimentary hot dogs.
This season the league has four divisions, including t-ball, 8-and-under machine pitch, 10-and-under machine pitch and 12-and-under kid pitch. In total, 18 teams will fill out the schedule.
The season will have games primarily on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights in the month of May and the early part of June.
