Oklahoma Territorial Capital Sports Museum will honor former Harlem Globetrotter Hubert “Geese” Ausbie during the 89er Celebration.
The basketball legend will be at the museum, located at 315 W. Okla. Ave., for a reception following the ‘89er Parade at 2 p.m. on April 22.
Come and meet “Geese” and help honor the former Crescent resident.
Ausbie is a member of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and played with the original Harlem Globetrotters from 1961 to 1985. After attending Crescent High School, he went on to Philander Smith College, where he became a national standout finishing third in scoring behind Elgin Baylor and Oscar Robertson.
Ausbie will also be honored at the 1889er Baseball Game at Squires Field during the Guthrie High School 89er Tournament at 5 p.m. on April 21 and we will be part of the 89er Parade.
