Guthrie Job Corps Center Director, Ms. Priscilla Mayberry, and Ms. Sharane Robinson, SGA Leadership Specialist, accompanied Student Body President Mario Cedillo presented a $500 check from the student body to the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce.

Guthrie Job CorpsCedillo stated, “The Chamber of Commerce supports us and we appreciate it! We believe it is important to give back to the community.”

Cedillo went on to say that they appreciate all of the people who have helped them out, especially Representative Lucas and Senator Inhoffe.

Cedillo is from Texas and has been at the Center for 9 months in the security trade program. He is currently enrolled at Oklahoma State University and anticipates graduating from there in two years. His long term plan is to get a job with the Guthrie Police Department.

Mary Coffin, Chamber President, expressed appreciation for the good work that is done at The Guthrie Job Corps Center.

“This is just an example of the quality of training that the students receive at the Job Corp. We are honored to have been recognized this way. Knowing that they could have chosen any number of ways to spend this money and that they chose to give this donation to us makes it mean even more. They are young people who just need an opportunity to be part of a community. I am glad that the students know that we are here for them.”
