The Logan County Girl Scouts Troop 516 promoted Pet Palooza that helped with pet adoption and raised money for the Guthrie Animal Shelter over the weekend at Mineral Wells Park.
A silent auction was set up in the pavilion while most, if not all, of the local veterinarians were on hand to answer questions about small animals.
The Boy Scouts were also on hand and helped by selling food during the Pet Palooza. A portion of those sales were given back to the Guthrie Animal Shelter.
“It makes me happy to see these young girls want to be a part of their community by helping those in need,” Chamber of Commerce President Mary Coffin said.
In the afternoon, the scouts hosted a pet show for cats and dogs with great prizes.
The troop spent 11 hours collecting donations, baking homemade cat and dog treats for pets who entered the pet show and made signs for the event.
