City officials are reminding parents, while it may be difficult to entertain children for weeks on end, they should not send their kids to a playground any time soon.
Health officials recently shared evidence that the novel coronavirus can survive on hard surfaces, like playground equipment.
On Wednesday afternoon there were 18 kids at Banner Park all on the same piece of playground equipment. Highland Park playground was not far behind, but were more spread out.
City leaders say you shouldn’t head to the City playground, but encourage you to still to get outside. Walking and jogging along trails is still encouraged as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.
If the playground issue continues, the City will consider placing signage and barriers around the playground areas.
