In a significant upset during Tuesday’s Primary Election, Coyle resident Molly Jenkins secured the Oklahoma State Representative seat for District 33, defeating incumbent Rep. John Talley, R-Stillwater.
Jenkins, a retired teacher and real estate broker, garnered a total of 2,740 votes, capturing 60.39% of the vote. Talley, who served three terms at the State Capitol, received 1,620 votes, accounting for 39.61%.
District 33, which spans much of Payne County and includes four precincts within Logan County, saw a competitive race. Talley managed to win three of the four precincts in Logan County.
