Friends and family throughout Guthrie, along with the racing community, were saddened with the sudden passing of Butch DeMoss.
DeMoss passed away at the age of 43 in the early morning hours of Sunday.
“We here at Speed Society would like to send our deepest sympathies to the DeMoss family and his circle of close friends. Being a part of the racing community is really something special and Butch will surely be missed.”
DeMoss appeared on the popular television show Street Outlaws during season two in 2013-14 as a racer with his 1966 Chevelle. DeMoss continued to race that car in an around OKC, while more recently putting time in behind the wheel of the Twisted Texan Chevy Lumina at no prep events.
Speed Society was one of several racing organizations to share their condolences.
Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble posted on Facebook by saying, “Butch was an avid racer and had recently driven his Twisted Texan deep into a tough field at Outlaw Armageddon. He was a great friend to many people at Thunder Valley and he will be deeply missed.”
A GoFundMe page has been setup to help the family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 3, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
