Relive the magic of “Twister” right where it was filmed in Guthrie

Get ready to saddle up and relive the whirlwind excitement of “Twister” as On Set Cinema brings a special screening to Guthrie on Saturday, July 20. Fans of the iconic 1996 action-adventure film will have the unique opportunity to watch it exactly where the thrilling “Galaxy Drive-In” scenes were filmed.

In a nod to the movie’s dramatic tornado scene, the event will be held at the original Guthrie location where the production team constructed—and then spectacularly destroyed—the massive drive-in set. Moviegoers will experience the same spot where the on-screen gang regrouped, locals enjoyed “A NIGHT OF HORRORS” featuring “The Shining” and “Psycho,” and a tornado ripped through the screen during the infamous “Here’s Johnny” moment.

Jo’s (Helen Hunt) 1984 Jeep J-10 Honcho truck will be at the event. This is the actual screen-used truck from the movie and is now locally owned by Tim Stegner (owner of Tim’s Body Worx).

The evening promises more than just a movie screening. Attendees can explore the property on a guided walking tour, learning about where each iconic scene was shot. For those wanting a fully immersive experience, On Set Cinema is offering a limited number of tickets that include overnight camping on the property.
