Reported fatality accident has I-35 shut down

10:30 pm — Woman dies in six vehicle accident on I-35


9 pm — After 16 hours and 18 minutes, the northbound lanes of I-35 at the Cimarron River bridge opened back up at 9 p.m. following this morning’s fatality accident involving seven vehicles.


1:45 pm — The northbound lanes of Interstate 35 at the Cimarron River bridge near the county line will remained closed for an estimated three more hours following this morning’s fatality accident.


6:20 am — I-35 northbound lanes are now shut down at mile marker 153 (south Guthrie exit) due to a vehicle accident blocking the highway. LCSO on the scene.


5:16 am — OHP confirms one fatality with this accident.


5:10 am — The I-35 northbound traffic will be diverted off the highway at mile marker 157 (north Guthrie exit) for a lengthy period of time.

The first patient is now being transported to OU Medical Center.


Logan and Payne County emergency crews are on the scene of a reported fatality accident and other injuried on Interstate 35.

The accident is going to involve several vehicles, including at least two semi trucks.

The incident took place just after 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes just north ofthe Cimarron River bridge (mile marker 166), which is near the county line.

Witnesses said a semi truck rolled over onto its side causing other vehicles to crash into the truck.

The highway has been shut down for the northbound lanes.

The interstate has many slick spots, according to the emergency crews.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Payne County Sheriff’s Office, Guthrie EMS, LifeNet, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Guthrie Fire Department is on the scene.
