Rev. Dr. Jerry Mash was honored at Wednesday’s Lenten Lunch for more than 30 years of pastoral service in Logan County and with Mission Native America. He and his wife Cuba, led The Church at North Gate and worked continuously to meet the physical needs of Native Americans through Mission Native America.
Rev. Bill Williams presented a plaque on behalf of the Ministerial Alliance for his “outstanding ministry to Native America, to community of Guthrie and the surrounding areas. During the presentation, Rev. Williams remembered shared how Mash has touched lives as a “Pastor, author, friend, father, grandfather and husband and has been a role model in the community. He has been successful in the political and governmental arena as a strategist, adviser, and official, always working to transform society through Christian principals.” Mash’s wife, Cuba, was also honored for her role in serving the church and community.
Dr. Mash serves in a leadership capacity with the Oklahoma Apostolic Prayer Network, as well as the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network.
Dr. Mash is of Cherokee descent and adopted Cheyenne. Dr. Mash received his undergraduate degree from Phillips University, his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law, attended the graduate seminary at Phillips University, and studied in the doctoral program at Fuller Theological Seminary.
