The Wednesday morning Guthrie Chamber of Commerce Coffee was held at the all-new Love’s Travel Stop. The store’s general manager handed out two donations worth $2,000, which went toward children in Guthrie.
General Manager Warren Waltz gave Chamber members a tour of the facility, but prior to that he presented Guthrie Public Schools and the Guthrie Kiwanis with $1,000 checks each. The donations were made in part of Love’s ongoing commitment to be involved in the community.
Supt. Dr. Mike Simpson accepted the donation on behalf of the school district and afterwards held a random drawing for all the elementary schools libraries. The winning school was Cotteral Elementary and the donation was given to the school’s librarian Kathleen Jensen and Principal Scot Graham a short time later.
“Thank you to Love’s for your generosity and congratulations to Cotteral Elementary,” Dr. Simpson said.
The 24-hour, 10,000 square foot facility adds approximately 50 jobs to Logan County. Customers can enjoy a Carl’s Jr. with Green Burrito restaurant, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift merchandise, name-brand electronics and more. Professional drivers can take advantage of seven showers, 106 truck-parking spaces and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center. This location will also add a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling option for motorists and heavy-duty trucks this spring.
