Rowdy Reihs to continue baseball career at NOC Enid

Rowdy Reihs will go from one winning baseball program to another. On Friday, he signed his letter of intent to play for a program that was ranked as high as eight in the nation a season ago.

Surrounded by friends, teammates and coaches, Reihs signed with Northern Oklahoma College in Enid. In 2015, the Jets were nationally ranked in the junior college (JUCO) rankings and the previous year played in the JUCO World Series.

Raydon Leaton has coached the Jets since 2001 and had led his team to 3 Bi-State Conference Championships.

Reihs thanked his teammates and both his baseball and football coaches.

In his junior year, Reihs batted .340 with 33 hits, drove in 19 runs and scored 25 runs. As the GHS ace, he won six games in 2014 and seven games in 2015.

The right-hander struck out 7o batters in just 46 innings pitched a year ago. In 11 pitching appearances, Reihs piled up a low 2.56 earned run average.

In the past two seasons with Reihs on the diamond, the Jays have added up a 50-22 record and a state tournament appearance in 2014.
