The Guthrie High School cross country programs took on the Mustang event last Thursday.
The Bluejays were paced by freshmen Trevor Sallee, who finished 13th in the 5k race, with a 18:17 time in the field of Class 6A and 5A.
First to come across the line was Edmond Memorial’s Jed Helker with a time of 16.34.
In the boy’s junior varsity 5k race, Juan Castillo collected a 19.29 time and was just edged by Mustang’s Fabian Ramirez by 27 seconds.
The Lady Jays had two runners place in the top 17 of the 5k race against fellow 5A and 6A runners.
First to come across was freshmen Mercy Dement, who finished 14th with a time of 22.59.
Fellow freshmen, Tori Wells, finished 17th with a time of 23:06
The overall winner was Mustang’s Madison Cornelius (20:49).
Next up for the programs will be a run at Putnam City West on Friday, Sept. 9.
