Candidates for the Board of Education in 13 Logan County school districts will file their Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 4, and continuing Tuesday and Wednesday, Logan County Election Board Secretary Sheleen Winscott said.
Winscott said the official filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6. All candidate filings will occur at the Logan County Election Board office, 224 E. Vilas Ave. in Guthrie, Winscott said.
The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled February 13, 2018. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in the election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in a runoff election on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
Candidates may file for the following offices:
Guthrie School District, I-1—Office No. 3 & 4, 4-year terms
Coyle School District, I-14—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Crescent School District, I-2—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Mulhall-Orlando School District, I-3—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Covington-Douglas School District, I-94—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Cashion School District, I-89—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Luther School District, I-3—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Perkins-Tryon School District, I-56—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Deer Creek School District, I-6—Office No. 3, 5-year term
Autry Tech—Office No. 1, 5-year term
Eastern Okla Tech Center 23—Office No. 2, 5-year term
Meridian Tech Center 16—Office No. 5, 5-year term
Gordon Cooper Tech Center 5—Office No. 5, 5-year term
