The Lady Jays outscored the Enid Pacers 27-18 in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome a first quarter hole.
Enid escaped Guthrie win a 45-42 win despite never trailing once in the game. Guthrie falls to 3-4 while Enid improves to 7-1.
The Lady Jays had a hard time stopping Courtney Chelf, who scored 13 of her 15 points in the first quarter, helping give her squad an 18-7 lead after the first eight minutes.
With Chelf in foul trouble, Guthrie pulled within one-point, 41-40, but Enid converted six-of-eight free throws in the quarter to secure the win.
Both coaches were upset with each team committing 22 turnovers.
Lady Jays return back to the home floor when they entertain Noble on Tuesday. Game time is set for 6:30 and can be heard on Triple Play Sports Radio 105.1 FM and Guthrie Sports Page beginning at 6:15.
Guthrie Scoring: Haynes 15, Murillo 9, Smedley 7, Jones 6, Chappell 3, Robinson 2
