Three people are extremely lucky after a pickup truck struck a guardrail straight on and a semi-truck over-turned into an embankment just missing a creek.
The accident occurred Tuesday morning just after 8 a.m. on Highway 33 and Western Ave.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not released their official report, but witnesses say a white truck, travelling westbound, was attempting to make a left turn onto Western Ave from the highway. The semi-truck, also traveling westbound, swerve to avoid the truck and went across the eastbound lanes and into the ditch just east of Gar Creek.
Both drivers and the passenger in the pickup truck did not report any injuries at the scene.
The semi was transporting sand.
Emergency crews believe it will take some time before the semi can be removed, but traffic remains open in both lanes at the time of this article.
Along with OHP, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Guthrie Fire Department responded to the accident.
Updates will be posted if they become available.
