Several volunteers searching for Betty Simon

Family members and several volunteers hit the streets in hopes of finding Betty Simon, who has not been seen since Wednesday evening.

The latest search came Monday evening as an estimated 40 volunteers help search 360 square miles. Volunteers stopped and looked under every bridge, deep ditch, and wood area around Highway 74 and Highway 81 as well as Northwest Expressway to Highway 33.

“We did not find her or her car,” Shannon Nakvinda said on the Facebook page named Find Betty Simon. We must continue to pass the word on to our friends,” she explained.

Betty Simon, 77, was last seen leaving the Bellevue Assisted Living Center Wednesday night. She was visiting her husband at Bellevue, which is located near NW 63rd and Portland.

The family believes she was traveling from Oklahoma City via Highway 74 north going to Highway 33 and going west.

Guthrie officials believe she would have been in Logan County and has family in the Guthrie area.

According to family members, her bank account nor her cell phone have been used since she became missing.

Simon has a heart condition and takes medication, but does not have it with her.

Simon was last seen around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20. She stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and has brown eyes and gray hair.

She was driving a 2004 silver-blue Buick LaSabre with Oklahoma tags 169-EZM.
