SH-74 surfacing project to begin in May and end in summer

Motorists will want to know about an upcoming road project on State Highway 74 that will begin soon and continue through this summer.

North and southbound SH-74 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane with flaggers and pilot cars directing traffic in multiple locations between SH-33 and Waterloo Rd. in Logan County beginning Friday, May 1, through summer 2020 for resurfacing and bridge repair projects.

Drivers should locate an alternate route or plan additional travel time when traveling the corridor.

The $1.5 million contract to resurface SH-74 between SH-33 and Camp Dr., which is one mile north of SH-74F, was awarded to TJ Campbell Construction Co. of Oklahoma City in March and is expected to complete in summer 2020.

The $1.8 million contract to resurface SH-74 and repair several bridges along SH-74 between Waterloo Rd. and Camp Dr. was also awarded to TJ Campbell Construction Co. of Oklahoma City in Nov. 2019 and is expected to complete in summer 2020.
