This Memorial Day weekend, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office to stop drunk driving in a multi-agency checkpoint.

Safety reports show fatalities increase every year when dealing with alcohol.
On Friday evening and in the early morning hours on Saturday, the agency’s were on the look out for those who put others safety and lives at risk.

The checkpoint was conducted at the county line at Waterloo and Sooner Road for five hours from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Deputies used a zero-tolerance policy.
Logan County Sheriff Jim Bauman and Oklahoma County Jim Whetsel were on hand as an estimated 30 deputies conducted the checkpoint.
Logan County Chief Deputy Rob Groseclose said his department made 10 arrests that included: one warrant, one stolen vehicle (vehicle was recovered), two for no drivers license, three driving under the influence, two public intoxications and one possession of marijuana.
Oklahoma County netted 11 arrests, including six on complaints of driving under the influence.
