The Guthrie Lady Jays softball program is hosting regionals for the first time since 1998 and are looking to punch their ticket to next week’s state tournament.
Four games are slated to begin Wednesday and two or three games on Thursday.
The Lady Jays enter the regional as the only team with a winning record.
Guthrie (20-5), the top-seed, will begin the regional by taking on Santa Fe South with a first pitch scheduled for noon.
The next game will feature two seed Ardmore facing Del City at 2 p.m.
The two losers will play an elimination game at 4, while the winners of the first two games will play at 6 p.m.
“If you’re around Guthrie, make sure to come out and support the Lady Jays,” head coach Booker Blakley said.
Guthrie, who last played in the state tournament in 2015, have won five straight, including a 5-1 win over Weatherford on Monday.
The Lady Jays did not play Santa Fe South (1-14) or Ardmore (14-17) in the regular season, but easily defeated Del City (7-14) twice in September.
Game One: Guthrie 23 – Santa Fe South 0
Game Two: Del City 23 – Ardmore 20
Game Three: Ardmore x – Santa Fe South x
Game Four: Guthrie 5 – Del City 1
Game Five: Del City vs Ardmore (12 p.m. Thursday)
Game Six: Guthrie vs Winner Game 5 (2 p.m. Thursday)
Game Seven: If necessary (4 p.m. Thursday)
