Special Jays claim flag football championship

Guthrie has been known to winning big football games and the latest came on Saturday in Yukon.

In the Junior Division Special Olympics Unified Flag Football, Guthrie’s Special Jays won the championship in just their first year of participation.

Michael Harmon (pictured centered), who who helped the Jays win a state championship as a player and is a current assistant coach for the Bluejays, served as the Special Jays head coach. He was assisted by Landon Hirzel and Logan Hand, who served as unified partners.

Team members include Morgan Mayberry, Mya Hutton, Daylon Watson, Jack Simms and Connor Branson.
