A 13-year-old Guthrie girl was arrested last Friday on two counts of arson that took place on East Vilas.
The female, teen allegedly set her grandmother’s house (511 E Vilas) on fire and in December set her neighbor’s shed on fire. Both occured in the 500 block of Vilas.
The fire, in December, was set to a portable, metal shed that contained mostly clothes and books in the back yard of 505 E. Vilas.
Guthrie News Page was on the scene as firefighters used 500 gallons to extinguish the shed fire. Next to the shed was a mobile home with a propane tank within feet, but fire crews worked quick to contain the fire.
Officials suspected foul play immediately.
The most recent fire was started in around the refrigerator as firefighters were able to keep it contained to the kitchen area.
Guthrie Police are not releasing any detailed information due to the suspect being a juvenile.
