A 15-year-old has been charged with first degree murder in the death of 14-year-old Antwoine Watson.
Dasan Clark was charged with the crime inside a Logan County Courthouse on Nov. 12. In addition, Clark was charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
Clark is accused of shooting Watson, while Watson was sitting in a vehicle in the 1200 block of E. Grant Ave. on Nov. 7. Related article: Person shot, killed; found on west side of town
Witnesses reported seeing a black male wearing a red shirt running at the same time of the shooting. One of the witnesses, said they saw a male running and crossing Lincoln Ave. into a thick wooded area.
Watson suffered multiple gun shot wounds. Another person attempted to drive Watson to the hospital on the west side of town, but stopped on the viaduct and waved down an ambulance. Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Watson and Clark and an ongoing “beef” for the last several months.
The day prior to the shooting, Watson allegedly told a witness he had planned to meet up with Clark and fight him and that the fight was about a gun that Clark had in his possession.
Several witnesses informed investigators that Clark had posted images of a gun on Snap Chat with a message, in part, reading “run the fade” which refers to meet up and fight, according to police.
On Nov. 8, Clark, along with a parent, met with investigators at the Guthrie Police Department, but both declined to an interview and requested an attorney to be present. Afterwards, Clark was spotted by an officer walking in the area of where the shooting had been observed by witnesses.
Following a two-day search, a firearm was recovered in proximity of where Watson was shot.
Clark appeared in court with a parent and was given a preliminary hearing date of Feb. 4, 2022.
Clark is being held without bond at a juvenile detention.
