The Republican ballot for Logan County Sheriff appears it will be full for the sheriff’s race. The Chief of Police in Cashion says she will fill out the paper work to declare her candidacy.
“I’m in it for the right reasons. I can take it (sheriff’s office) to the next level,” Veronica Thomas told Guthrie News Page.
Along with Thomas, Michael Lanoy and Ben McHand says they will file during the April 13-15 filing period and run against Sheriff Jim Bauman, who has been in office for two four-year terms, on the Republican ballot.

Thomas has served as the Cashion police chief now for three years. Prior to her current position, Thomas served as a dispatcher for the Guthrie Police Department, a reserve, secretary, school resource officer and chaplain for the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and was an officer for Langston University.
Anyone wishing to run for the county offices of sheriff, county clerk, court clerk or district two commissioner will have the opportunity to file their paperwork between April 13-15 with the Logan County Election Board. If there are two or more candidates to file for an office, a primary election will be held June 28.
